I’m a Creative Web Communications Professional //

Artist Statement

I’m a jack-of-many-trades and expert at each of them. I’ve spent twenty years refining my skills as a communications professional and I’ve created hundreds of successful, effective promotional campaigns for traditional and web media.

History

I’ve designed and built hundreds of websites—magazine websites; car show and other registration-based event sites; library resource and state government websites; e-commerce sites and premium content paid subscriber-based websites.

I’m a content management specialist, a stickler for details when it comes to taxonomy, grammar, spelling, editorial, and audience-specific writing. I’m devoted to the AP Style Guide, and in love with the Oxford comma.

WordPress is my platform of choice but I’ve built in other platforms. I’m an advanced coder, proficient in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript libraries like JQuery. I develop with a strict adherence to W3C standards and I employ HTML 5 and CSS 3 in my work. My websites feature a superior user experiences and clean, organized layout. I strive for designs that emphasize brand identity and ease-of-use.

The majority of design and development work I’ve done over the past 20 years was conducted to promote a product, a service, an organization, or a personality. I’ve served as Communications Director for the Wyoming Department of Education and Marketing Manager for the Wyoming State Library. I’ve created ads for newspapers, websites, radio spots, and I work closely with the necessary media professionals to get my message to its audience.
